This forward-thinking mindset is what Microsoft Security wanted to bring to life through a new brand identity: one that reflects proactive, all-encompassing protection. We moved deliberately away from tired cybersecurity tropes—padlocks, shields, shadowy palettes—and created a system that feels vibrant, human, and reassuring. The result is a bold, modern system that reflects how security should feel—clear, confident, and always one step ahead.
Concealed, revealed
At the heart of the visual system is a scanning effect inspired by imaging and scanning technology. It represents how Microsoft Security can reveal hidden threats and give users a clear view of potential risks. Using a dynamic colour palette drawn from Microsoft’s core colours, this element is both adaptable and impactful, highlighting important information and creating a rich, engaging experience.

Hi-tech type
Microsoft’s signature typeface is known for its clean, readable design. But when paired with the scanning effect, it gains a new layer of interactivity—effortlessly highlighting key words and guiding the eye to the most important messages, making each point clear and compelling.

No detail overlooked
Our scanning mechanic also scales down to smaller, more nuanced moments, adding an interactive and engaging feel to data visualisations. It brings depth and a touch of technical sophistication, enhancing infographics and other digital UI elements. It’s an approach that makes even the most everyday of interactions feel that little bit more unique.

The identity also flexes beyond the digital realm: bringing light, energy, and brightness to real-world environments, and rounding out the comprehensive narrative with cohesion and consistency across the ecosystem.
